About the Artist
Theresa Hencek studied fine art from a very young age, and specialized in portraiture in watercolor and colored pencil. She was always fascinated by studying the beauty of unique facial features. She later attended Parsons School of Design where she majored in fashion design. Theresa enjoyed seeing her drawings come to life in the form of garments, and was excited by the process of illustrating her ideas, and conveying the attitude of her “girl” through her illustrations. It was where her two great loves, art and fashion, could meet.
“Hencekova” Means Hand Crafted
The last name, Hencekova, actually means “hand crafted” which explains Theresa’s life-long passion for her art. Hencekova studio illustrations celebrate femininity, style, and humor. Artist Theresa Hencek illustrates long-limbed, long-lashed girls in expressive poses using a bold color palette, creating a chic and joyful world. Theresa draws inspiration from fashion, friends, and favorite hobbies such as yoga, travel, reading to create her original illustrations.
